Enhanced, not just enlarged
Stretching a photo makes every pixel bigger, blur included. An AI enhancer does something different: it studies the photo and generates the detail a sharper camera would have captured — the weave in a jumper, the edge of a leaf, the lettering on a label — while it enlarges.
That is why the result can look better than the original ever did, and also why it is an AI-edited image rather than a photograph: the new detail is plausible, not recorded. The clip here illustrates the idea; your own before-and-after appears in the tool.

Getting the best result
Use the original file. A photo that has been through a chat app or a screenshot has lost detail the enhancer then has to invent. The original from your camera roll gives it the most to work with.
Crop before you enhance. Enhancing spends its megapixels on the whole frame. Crop to the part you need first and every one of them goes where it matters.

What does the AI photo enhancer actually do?
It upscales the photo and rebuilds fine detail as it goes: edges get crisper, textures like hair, fabric and foliage get definition, and compression blocks and noise are usually smoothed away. It uses Clarity AI's upscalers, which generate the new detail rather than just stretching the pixels.
Which option should I choose, Pro or Creative?
Pro for photos of people and anything that must stay faithful: it runs a stricter setting, goes up to 9 megapixels and is designed to keep identity close to the source. Creative, at 4 megapixels, adds more generated detail — good for landscapes, food and textures, less so for faces.
Will the enhancer change the person in my photo?
It aims not to, and Pro is the tier to use for faces, but it is generative: small details such as skin texture, stray hairs or the exact shape of an eye can be redrawn. Compare with the zoom before you use the result, and treat the output as an AI-edited image, which is how it is marked.
Can it fix old, damaged or faded photos?
It can sharpen and enlarge a scan of an old photo, but it does not repair scratches, tears or stains, and it does not correct faded colour. For a clean scan, it makes the most of the pixels that are there; for missing pieces, the object remover and the image studio can help.
Whose photos can I enhance?

What if the enhancement fails?
The credits are returned automatically. Enhancing takes from under a minute to about three minutes for a large result; keep the tab open while it runs, and try again if it fails.
