What an AI video generator actually does

A generative video model does not find footage and it does not edit footage. It renders frames that have never existed, from a description of what should be in them and how the camera should behave. That makes it good at exactly the shots that are expensive to film — a location you cannot get to, a product in a set that was never built, a camera move that needs a crane — and it makes the brief, not the timeline, the thing worth getting right.

Two ways in: from text, or from a picture

Text to video

With Seedance 2.5, Seedance 2.5 Turbo, Seedance 2.0 or Seedance 2.0 Mini the prompt is the whole input. This is the fastest route when the shot lives only in your head and you want to see several interpretations of it quickly, and it is where most people start. Image to video

WAN 3.0 Prime, WAN 2.7 and the Seedance engines all accept a start frame, so the composition, palette and subject are settled before any motion is added. This is the controllable path, and it is why most product and brand work begins with a still. You can add an end frame to steer where the shot finishes and attach up to twelve reference items — six images, three videos and three audio clips — for style, continuity and sound. How it works

Choosing an engine

The six engines differ in what they accept as input, how long they can run, how much resolution they reach and what they are strongest at. You can switch between them without losing your prompt, so trying one brief on two engines is cheap.

Seedance 2.5

The current flagship, and the strongest of the six at camera language — dolly, crane, rack focus — and at holding a scene together across a longer take. Up to 30 seconds with native audio, and up to 4K when the clip has to hold up on a large screen.

Seedance 2.5 Turbo

The same family tuned for speed and cost and capped at 1080p. Use it to iterate on a prompt until the shot is right, then re-run the winning prompt on full Seedance 2.5.

WAN 3.0 Prime

Built around an input frame or reference media: give it a start image — or a set of references for style, characters and sound — and it animates from there. Runs 5, 10 or 30 seconds at 480p, 720p or 1080p, and it is the cheapest way into a clip.

Seedance 2.0 and 2.0 Mini

Seedance 2.0 takes text or an image, generates native audio with the picture and reaches 4K. Mini is text-only and the fastest way to test an idea — good for storyboarding a sequence cheaply before committing credits to a finished render.

WAN 2.7

Image-to-video with two levers the others do not have: a negative prompt, which is the direct fix when a model keeps adding something you do not want, and an audio guide track you supply yourself. 720p or 1080p, 5 to 15 seconds.

Writing a prompt that works

The prompts that fail are usually the vague ones. “A nice video of a car” gives the model nothing to decide with; “low tracking shot alongside a black sedan on wet tarmac at dusk, headlights flaring, shallow depth of field” gives it four concrete decisions. A structure that holds up: subject, what the subject does, where the camera is and how it moves, the light, the mood.

Treat duration and resolution as levers separate from the prompt. Draft at 480p on a cheap engine until the composition is right, then re-run the same words at 1080p or 4K on a flagship. Change one thing at a time: a rewritten prompt and a switched engine in the same run tells you nothing about which caused the difference. And where a model keeps introducing something unwanted, WAN 2.7’s negative prompt fixes it directly instead of by rewording.

Extending, upscaling and finishing a clip

Extend continues a video you have already generated instead of starting over, which keeps the look consistent and costs less than a fresh render at full length. Every engine in the line-up has a matching Extend variant.

When a clip is right but soft, the AI video upscaler raises it to a crisp 1080p as a separate pass, so you are not paying flagship rates during the iteration phase. A start frame that needs work first can go through the image upscaler or the object remover, and a finished cut can be scored with the AI music generator. Everything shares one credit balance and one library of creations.

Credits and what a generation costs

Generations are paid for in credits, and the exact cost of the settings you have chosen is printed on the Generate button before you commit to it. A 5-second clip starts at 5 credits; longer durations and higher resolutions cost proportionally more, which is why drafting cheap and finishing expensive is the habit worth forming. Credits do not expire while your account is open, and one balance covers video, images and music.

Plans renew monthly until cancelled and can be cancelled online at any time. Every plan, credit pack and billing term is listed on pricing details; you can choose a plan once you are signed in.

Every clip is marked as AI-generated

Video made here is synthetic, and WowMade labels it as such. Each file carries a signed C2PA provenance manifest recording that it was AI-generated and which tool produced it, in line with Article 50 of the EU AI Act. Anyone can read that mark back on the verification page.

Prompts are screened before generation, and the Content & Safety Policy sets out what may not be created here — including sexual content, and depictions of real people made without the rights to use their likeness.
