Making good animal stickers

Animals are the most requested sticker subject there is, and the most forgiving: a round body, two eyes and a clear silhouette survive being printed at thumbnail size on a laptop lid. Which style works best for animal stickers at small sizes?

Bold cartoon and kawaii. Both use a thick outline and flat colour, which is what survives a 5 cm print. Watercolour and 3D clay look lovely large but lose their detail below about 7 cm.
